ތަޢުލީމީ ޙާލަތު
2007 ވަނަ އަހަރު މިނިސްޓްރީ އޮފް އެޑިޔުކޭޝަނުން ނެރުނު މަޢުލޫމާތު ބުނާގޮތުން، ސ. އަތޮޅު މަދަރުސާގައި ތަޢުލީމު ޙާޞިލް ކުރަމުން ދަނީ މުޅިޖުމުލަ 210 ދަރިވަރުންނެވެ. މިއީ 102 ފިރިހެން ކުދިންނާއި 108 އަންހެން ކުދިންނެވެ. 2006 ވަނައަހަރުގެ ބޯހިމެނުމުން ދައްކާ ގޮތުގައި ސ. ހުޅުމީދޫގެ އާބާދީ އަކީ ޖުމުލަ 2605 މީހުންނެވެ (ހުޅުދޫގެ 1147، އަދި މީދޫގެ 1458). ދެރަށުގެ އާބާދީ ގެ ނިސްބަތުން ބަލާނަމަ ރަށުގައި ތިބެގެން ސާނަވީ ތަޢުލީމު ޙާޞިލް ކުރަމުންދާ ކުދިންގެ (އުމުރުން 10 -20 އަހަރު) ޖުމުލަ އާބާދީ އަކީ 700އެވެ. މިއީ ސ. އަތޮޅުމަދަރުސާގެ އިތުރުން ހުޅުދޫ ސްކޫލާއި މީދޫ ސްކޫލުގެ ގްރޭޑް 4ކުން މަތީގެ ދަރިވަރުން ހިމަނައިގެންނެވެ.
މީގެތެރެއިން މިހާރު ރަށުގައި ތިބެގެން ތަޢުލީމު ޙާޞިލް ކުރަމުން ދަނީ މުޅިޖުމުލަ 480 ދަރިވަރުންނެވެ. މީގެ މާނައަކީ، މި ޢުމުރު ފުރާގެ ގާތްގަނޑަކަށް %30 ތައުލީމު ޙާޞިލް ކުރަމުންދަނީ ރަށުންބޭރުގައެވެ. 2006 ވަނައަހަރު މާލޭގެ އާބާދީ ގެ ގާތްގަނޑަކަށް %50 އަކީ އަތޮޅުތަކުގެ ރައްޔިތުންނަށް ވީހިނދު، މީގެ ތެރެއިން %12 އަކީ އައްޑު އަތޮޅުގެ މީހުންނެވެ. މީ ރާއްޖޭގެ ނިސްބަތުން ރަށްދޫކޮށް އެހެން ރަށަކަށް ދާއިމީކޮށް ހިޖުރަކުރި އެންމެ ބޮޑު އާބާދީއެވެ. މިގޮތުން އާބާދީގެ ނިސްބަތުން އެންމެ ގިނަބައެއް އައްޑު އަތޮޅުން މާލެއަށް ހިޖުރަކޮއްފައިވަނީ ސ.ހުޅުދޫއިންނެވެ. މިއީ ހިތާމަކުރަންޖެހޭ ކަމެކެވެ. މިމައްސަލައަށް ޙައްލެއް ހޯދުމަށް ބޭނުންވަނީ ސ.އަތޮޅުމަދަރުސާގެ ތަޢުލީމީ ފެންވަރު ރަނގަޅުކުރުމެވެ. މި ކަންވާނީ، ސަރުކާރަށް މިކަން ދަންނަވައި، މަޖިލިސް ފަދަ މުހިންމު މައިދާން ތަކުގައި މިކަމުގެ ނޭދެވޭ އަސަރުގެ ވާހަކަ ދައްކައިގެންނެވެ. މިކަން އިރާދަ ކުރެއްވިއްޔާ އަޅުގަނޑު ކުރާނަން.
ކަރަންޓުގެ ޚިދުމަތް
ކަރަންޓަކީ އަސާސީ ޚިދުމަތެކެވެ. އެހެންކަމުން މި އަސާސީ ޚިދުމަތް ރައްޔިތުންނަށް ފޯރުކޮށް ދޭންޖެހޭނީ އެއްވެސް ފަރަޤެއް ނެތި ހަމަހަމަ ކަމާއެކުގައިކަމަށް އަޅުގަނޑު ދެކެމެވެ. ނަމަވެސް ކަން ހިނގަނީ މިހެނެއް ނޫނެވެ. ސްޓެލްކޯގެ އެންމެފަހުގެ ރޭޓްތަކަށް ބަލާއިރު ރޭޓްތައް ބަހާލާފައިވަނީ 4 ގިންތިއަކަށެވެ. މިގޮތުން ފުރަތަމަ 2 ގިންތީގައި ޑޮމެސްޓިކް ބޭނުމަށް ބޭނުންކުރެވޭ ކަރަންޓު ޔުނިޓަކަށް (200 ޔުނިޓާ ހަމަޔަށް) ނަގަނީ -/2.75 ލާރިއެވެ. މި ރޭޓުގައި މާލެއާއި އަތޮޅުތަކުގައި އެއްވެސް ތަފާތެއްނެތެވެ. ނަމަވެސް 201 ޔުނިޓުން މަތިވެއްޖެނަމަ ޔުނިޓަކަށް އަތޮޅުތަކުގެ ރައްޔިތުން ދޭންޖެހެނީ -/3.50 ލާރިއެވެ. 3ވަނަ ގިންތީގައި މާލޭ ރައްޔިތުން ދޭންޖެހެނީ ހަމަ ކުރިޔެކޭ އެއްފަދައިން -/2.75 ލާރިއެވެ. ސްޓެލްކޯގެ ތަފާސްހިސާބުތަކުން ދައްކާގޮތުގައި ހުޅުމީދޫގެ އާބަދީގެ ބޮޑުބައެއްގެ ކަރަންޓު ބިލަށް މަހަކު 200 ޔުނިޓަށްވުރެން މަތިވެއެވެ. މީގެ މާނައަކީ މިމިންވަރަށް މާލޭގެ ގެއަކުން ކަރަންޓު ބޭނުން ކުރުމުން ބިލަށް އަރާ ވަރަށްވުރެ ގާތްގަނޑަކަށް %27 ބޮޑުޢަދަދެއް ރާއްޖޭގެ އެހެން އަތޮޅުތަކުގެ ރައްޔިތުން ދައްކަން ޖެހެއެވެ. ސްޓެލްކޯއިން ހަދާފަ ހުރި ރޭޓް ލިސްޓް ހަދާފައިވަނީ ކަނޑައެޅިގެން މާލޭގެ ރައްޔިތުންނަށް ހެޔޮއަގުގައި ކަރަންޓުގެ ޚިދުމަތް ލިބޭގޮތަށާއި، ރާއްޖޭގެ އަތޮޅުތަކުގައި ދިރިއުޅެމުންދާ ނިކަމެތީން ބުރަމަސައްކަތުން ލިބޭ ފައިސާ ނަހަމަ ގޮތުގައި ފޭރިގަންނަ އުޞޫލުންނެވެ. ސްޓެލްކޯއަކީ ދިވެހި ދައުލަތުގެ ކުންފުންޏަކަށް ވާހިނދު، ދިވެހި ރާއްޖޭގެ ވަކި ރަށެއްގެ ވަކި ބަޔަކަށް ވަކި ރޭޓެއް ހެދިގެން ނުވާނެއެވެ. މީ އަޅުގަޑު ދެކޭ ގޮތުގައި ނަޞްލީ ޢިމްތިޔާޒަށް ހިތްވަރުދިނުމެއެވެ. މިކަން ހުއްޓުވައި، ރާއްޖޭގެ ހުރިހާރަށަކަށް ހަމަހަމަ އުސޫލެއްގެ މަތިން ކަރަންޓުގެ ޚިދުމަތް ދިނުމަށް ވަކާލާތު ކުރާނެކަމުގެ ފުރިހަމަ ޔަޤީންކަން ތިޔަލޮބޮވެތި އެންމެހާ ރައްޔިތުންނަށް އަޅުގަޑު އަރުވަމައެވެ.
ބޯފެނާއި ނަރުދަމާގެ ނިޒާމު
ޒަމާނުއްސުރެ ހުޅުމީދޫގެ ރައްޔިތުން ދިޔައީ ނަޖިސް ބިމަށް ހިންދަމުންނެވެ. އެއިރު މިއީ މޮޅު ގޮތެއް ކަމުގައި ވިޔަސް، މިކޮތަށް ބިމަށް ހިންދާލެވޭ ނަޖިސް ފަސްގަޑުގެތެރެއަށް ފުރޭނިގެން ގޮސް ބިމުގެ އަޑީގައި ހުންނަ މީރުފެން ފަށަލައަށް ވާޞިލްވުމުން ފެން ތަޣައްޔަރު ވާގޮތްވެއެވެ. މިގޮތުން ފެން ތަޣައްޔަރުވާކަން މީގެ ކުރިން ރަށުގެ ގިނަބަޔަކަށް ފާހަގަ ވެފައި ނެތަސް، މި ފަހަކަށްއައިސް ފެންޕަންޕު ބޭނުންކޮށް ވަޅުން ފެންނެގޭ މިންވަރު އިތިރުވުމުގެ ސަބަބުން، ރަށުގެ ހުރިހާ ރައްޔިތުންނަށްވެސް ފެން ތަޣައްޔަރުވުމުގެ އަސަރުކުރަން ފަށައިފިއެވެ. މިނިސްޓްރީ އޮފް އެންވަޔަރަންމަންޓުނާއި، މިނިސްޓްރީ އޮފް ހެލްތުން ކުރި ދިރާސާތަކުން ދައްކާގޮތުގައި، މިހާރު ހުޅުމީދޫގެ ބައެއް ހިސާބުތަކުގެ ބިމުއަޑިން ނެގޭ ފެނުގައި ހުރި ނަޖިހުގެ މިންވަރަކީ އިންސާނުން ކެއިން ބުއިމަށް ބޭނުން ކުރުމަށް ކަމުދާ މިންވަރަށް ވުރެ މާ މަތީމިންވަރެކެވެ. އެހެން ޢިބާރާތަކުން ދަންނަވަނީނަމަ ހުޅުމީދޫގެ ވަޅުތަކުން މިހާރު ނެގޭ ފެނަކީ އިންސާނުންގެ އެއްވެސް ބޭނުމަށްކަށް ބޭނުންކުރެވިދާނެ ފެނެއް ނޫނެވެ.
މިކަމަށް އޮތް ހަމައެކަނި ޙައްލަކީ މާލެފަދަ ރަށްތަކުގައި ހަދާފައިވާފަދަ ނަރުދަމާގެ ނިޒާމެއް ހުޅުމީދޫގައި ޤާއިމު ކުރުމެވެ. މިކަމުގެ މުހިންމުކަން ސަރުކާރަށް އެނިގިފައި ނުވާކަމުގެ އެންމެ ބޮޑު ހެއްކަކީ، ހުޅުމީދޫގެ ނަރުދަމާގެ ނިޒާމު ޤާއިމްކުރެވޭނެ ދުވަހެއް އަދިވެސް ސަރުކާރުގެ މުއައްސަސާތަކުން ނިންމާފައި ނުވާކަމެވެ. މިކަމުގެ މުހިންމު ކަން، ސަރުކާރުގެ ސަމާލުކަމަށް ގެނައުމަށް އަޅުގަނޑަށް، މަޖިލީހުގެ މެންބަރުކަން ލިބިއްޖެނަމަ، މަޖިލީހުގައި މިކަމާ ބެހޭގޮތުން އަޑު އުފުލާ ވަކާލާތުކުރާނަމެއެވެ.
މީގެއިތުރުން ސާފު ބޯފެނަކީ އިންސާނުންގެ އަސާސީ ބޭނުމަކަށް ވީހިނދު، ބިމުއަޑިން ލިބޭ ފެން ތަޣައްޔަރު ވެފައިވުމުން ހުޅުމީދޫގެ ރައްޔިތުން ބަރޯސާވަމުން އައީ ވާރޭ ފެނަށެވެ. ނަމަވެސް ވާރޭ ފެނަކީ ވާރޭވެހޭ މޫސުމުގައި ލިބޭ އެއްޗަކަށް ވުމުން މި ދެރަށުގައި އެއް ގޮތަކަށްވެސް ފެން ނުލިބޭ ހާލަތްތައްވެސް އައިސްފައި އެބަހުއްޓެވެ. މިފަދަ ޚާލަތްތަކުގައި ރައްޔިތުންނަށް ފެން ފޯރުކޮށް ދިނުމަށް އާންމު ފެންތާނގީތަކެއް ބޭނުންވެއެވެ. މިފަދަ ކަންތައްތައް، ސަރުކާރުގެ ސަމާލުމަކަށް ގެނެސް ރައްޔިތުންގެ ހައްޤުގައި އަޑު އުފުލާ ވަކާލާތުކުރާނަމެއެވެ.
ސިއްޚީ ޚިދުމަތްތައް
ހުޅުމީދޫގެ އެންމެހައި ރައްޔިތުންނަށް އެނގިވަޑައިގަންނަވާނޭފަދައިން، ހުޅުމީދޫގެ ސިއްޚީމަރުކަޒަކީ ނަމެއްގައި ހުންނަ ތަނެކެވެ. ރަށުގެ ރައްޔިތުންނަށް ބޭނުންވާ ބޭސްފަރުވާ އެންމެ އެކަށީގެންވާފަދަ ފެންވަރެއްގައި ފޯރުކޮށްދެވޭ ތަނެއްނޫނެވެ. އެންމެފަހުން އާ ޢިމާރާތެއް ލިބިފައިވވީނަމަވެސް ޚިދުމަތަކަށް އައި ބަދަލެއްނެތެވެ. މާބަނޑު މީހުނަށް ބޭނުންވާ ބޭސްފަރުވާ ދެވެން ނެތުމުން، ރެގިއުލަރ ޗެކަޕް ތަކަށް ދާންޖެހެނީ ބިޔަކަނޑެއް ހުރަސްކޮށް އަވަށްޓެރި ހިތަދުއަށެވެ. ފެރީގެ ޚިދުމަތް އޮންނަނީ ހަފުތާއަކު ދެފަހަރެވެ. ފެރީނޯންނަ ދުވަހެއްގައި ދާންޖެހޭމީހާ ޖެހެނީ ބޮޑުއަގުދީފައި ސްޕީޑް ލޯންޗެއް ނުވަތަ ދޯންޏެއް ކުއްޔަށް ހިފާށެވެ. މާލީ ހާލަތު ތަންނުދިނުމުގެ ސަބަބުން މިގޮތަށް ބޮޑުއަގުދީފައި ލޯންޗު ކުއްޔަށް ހިފާއިގެން ދިއުމަކީ ކޮންމެމީހަކަށް ވާވަރުގެ ކަމެއްނޫނެވެ. ދެންޖެހެނީ ކޮންމެވެސް މީހަކަށް ސަލާން ޖަހައިގެން ނޫނީ ފަހު ދަރަންޏަށް ހޯދައިގެން ހަމަޖައްސާލަންށެއެވެ. މީ އަޅުގަނޑުމެންގެ ސިއްޚީ ޙާލަތެވެ. ނަމަވެސް އަޅުގަނޑު ދެކޭގޮތުގައި މިއީ މިކަން އޮންނަން ޖެހޭ ގޮތެއް ނޫނެވެ. މިކަންތައްތައް ހައްލުވާންޖެހެއެވެ. ކޮންމެހެން ބޮޑު ހޮސްޕިޓަލެއް ހުޅުމީދޫގައި ނޭޅުނަސް ހުޅުމީދުއާ ހިތަދުއާއި ދެމެދު ދުވާލަކު އެއްފަހަރު ދެވޭ ކަހަލަ ފެރީ ނިޒާމެއް ޤާއިމްވާން ޖެހެއެވެ. މި ފެރީނިޒާމް ވާންޖެހޭނީ، ރައްޔިތުންނަށް ފޯރާފަށުގައި ދަތުރުތަކުގެ އަގު ހުންނަ ފެރީ ނިޒާމަކަށެވެ. މިކަންތައްތައް އިޞްލާޙް ކުރުމުގެ ގޮތުން ރައްޔިތުންގެ މަޖިލީހުގައި އަޅުގަނޑު ވަކާލާތު ކުރާނަމެވެ. އަޅުގަނޑުމެންގެ ރަށުގެ ޙާލަތުގެ މަޢުލޫމާތު ސަރުކާރުގެ ކަމާބެހޭ ފަރާތްތަކަށް ފޯރުކޮށްދިނުމަކީ އަޅުގަނޑުގެ ޒިންމާއެއްކަމުގައި ދެކޭނަމެވެ.
މަސްވެރިންގެ ޙާލަތު
ޒަމާނުއްސުރެ ހުޅުމީދޫގެ މަސްވެރިންނަކީ މުޅި ރާއްޖޭގެ ނިޞްބަތުންވެސް ފާހަގަކޮއްލެވޭފަދަ ހީވާގި، މުރާލި، ކަމަށް ޤާބިލުބައެކެވެ. މިކަމުގެ ހެއްކަކީ، އެކި ފަހަރުމަތިން ހުޅުމީދޫގެ މަސްވެރިން މުޅި ރާއްޖެ ފަޚުރުވެރިވާފަދަ ރެކޯޑުތައް ޤާއިމްކޮއްފައިވާކަމެވެ. ނަމަވެސް މިއަދު މަސްވެރިން ރޯންޖެހޭ ސަބަބެއް އެބައޮތެވެ. ރަށަށް ފުރައި ލަފައި އުޅޭ ކޮންމެ ފަހަރަކުއެވެ. ބަނދަރުގެ ދޯދިޔައި ކަމުންނެވެ. ޖާގަވެސް ކުޑަކަމުންނެވެ. ހުޅުދޫގެ ބަނދަރަކީ ކުރީގެ ސަރުކާރުން، ރައްޔިތުންގެ ލޮލުގައި އަނދުން އެޅުވުމުގެ ގޮތުން ނަމުގައި، އެއްވެސް ޕްލޭނެއްނެތި ހަދާފައިވާ ބަނދަރެކެވެ. މި ބަނދަރު ހެދިފަހުން އެއްވެސް ކަހަލަ އެކަށީގެންވާ މަރާމާތެއް މިބަނދަރަށްކޮއްފައެއް ނުވެއެވެ. މި ޙާލަތުގައި މި ބަނދަރު އޮންނަތާ ލައްކަ ދުވަސް ވެއްޖެއެވެ. ނަމަވެސް ސަރުކާރުގެ ކަމާބެހޭ ފަރާތްތަކުގައި ދަންނަވައިގެން މި ބަނދަރު ހެދުމަށް އެކަށީގެންވާ މިންވަރަކަށް ރަށުގެ ކަތީބުން މަސައްކަތް ކޮށްފައިނުވެއެވެ. ބަނދަރަކީ، އަޅުގަނޑުމެންގެ ދިރިއުޅުމާ އެންމެ ބޮޑަށް ލާމެހިފައިވާ އެއްތަންކަމުން މިތަން ރަނގަޅު ފެންވަރުގައި އޮތުމަކީ، އަސާސީބޭނުން ތަކުގެ ތެރޭގައި ހިމެނޭކަމެކެވެ. އެހެނީ، އަޅުގަނޑުމެންގެ ކެއިންބުއިމާއި، ބޭސްފަރުވާއާއި، އެހެނިހެން ކަންތައްތައް ގުޅިފައިވަނީ ބަނދަރާއެވެ.
އަދި މަސްވެރިކަން ކުރިއަރުވާ ނެގެހެއްޓުމަށްޓަކާއި މަސްވެރިންނަށް ލުއިލޯނު ލިބޭނެ އުސޫލުއް ހަމަޖެއްސުމަށް ސަރުކާރުގެ ކަމާބެހޭ ވުޒާރާތަކާއި މަޝްވަރާކުރާނަމެވެ. މަސްމާރުކޭޓަކީވެސް މިދާއިރާއަށް ބޭނުން ތެރި ތަނެއްކަން ސަރުކާރުގެ ސަމާލުކަމަށް ގެނެސް އެކެށީގެންވާ ޙައްލެއް ހޯދުމަށް މަސައްކަތްކުރާނަމެއެވެ. މަސްވެރިކަމުގެ ސިނާޢަތުން ރަށުގައި ތިބެގެން މަސްވެރިންނަށް ރާއްޖެއިންނާއި ރާއްޖެއިންބޭރުން އާމްދަނީ ހޯދުމަށް ގާނޫނުހަދާމަޖިލިސްތެރެއިން ވަކާލާތުކުރާނަމެއެވެ. އަދި ބަނދަރުގެ މައްސަލަ ސަރުކާރުގެ ސަމާލުކަމަށް ގެންގޮސް، އެކަށީގެންވާ ބަނދަރެއް، ރާއްޖޭގެ އެހެން ރަށްތަކެކޭ އެއްފަދައިން ހުޅުމީދުއަށްވެސް ހޯދައި ދިނުމަށް މަސައްކަތް ކުރާނަމެއެވެ.
އިޖްތިމާޢީ ޙާލަތު
މަސްތުވުމާއި، މަސްތުވާތަކެތީގެ ވިޔަފާރި ކުރުމާއި މިބާވަތުގެ ކަންތައްތަކަކީ ހުޅުމީދޫގެ ރައްޔިތުން އަލަށް އަޑުއަހާ ވާހަކައެއްނޫނެވެ. މީ ރެޔާދުވާލު އެތައްފަހަރު މަތިން އަޑުއިވޭ ވާހަކައެކެވެ. މަސްތުވަނީ ހުޅުމީދޫގެ ޒުވާނުންނެވެ. އާއިލީ މީހުންނެވެ. ރައްޓެހިންނެވެ. މި ރޯގާގެ އަސަރު ދިވެހިރާއްޖެއިން އެންމެ ބޮޑަށް ކޮއްފައިވާ އެއްދާއިރާ ކަމުގައި ހުޅުމީދޫ ވާނެއެވެ. އަޅުގަނޑު މަޖިލީހަށް ތިޔަލޮބޮވެތި ރައްޔިތުން ހޮއްވަވައިފިނަމަ، ހުޅުމީދޫގެ ޒުވާނުންގެ ހައްޤުގައި މަސްތުވާތަކެތިން ދުރުވުމަށް އަޅުގަނޑުގެ އަމިއްލައިން އިސްނަގައިގެން ޕްރޮޖެކްޓްތައް ހިންގާނަމެއެވެ. މިހެނީ، މި ފަދަ ޒުވާނުންނަށް ބޭނުންވަނީ، ދީނީ ހޭލުންތެރިކަމާއި، ވަޒީފާގެ ފުރުސަތާއި، މަސްތުވާ ތަކެތިން ދުރުގައި އުޅުމުގެ ހިތްވަރެވެ. މިވަބާގައި ޖެހިފައިވާ ޒުވާނުންނަށް މުޖުތަމަޢުއަށް އަނބުރާ އައުމަށް ކުރަންޖެހޭ އެންމެހާ މަސައްކަތް ކުރާނަމެއެވެ. މީގެ އިތުރުންވެސް މަޖިލީހުގައި މަސްތުވާތަކެއްޗާއި ދެކޮޅަށް ކުރެވޭ ޖިހާދުގައި، އެއްބާރުލުންދީ، މަސްތުވާތަކެތީގެ އަވައިގައި ޖެހިފައިތިބި ޒުވާނުންގެ ހައްޤުގައި ފާސްކުރެވޭ ބިލްތަކަށް މަޝްވަރާކޮށް، އަޅުގަނޑަށް ވެވުނުމިންވަރަކުން، ފާޑުކިޔައި ހަދާނަނަމެއެވެ. އަދި ރިހެބިލިޓޭޝަން ޚިދުމަތް ފުޅާކުރުމަށް ބާރުއަޅައި އަޑު އުފުލާ ވަކާލާތުކުރާނަމެއެވެ.

ReplyDeleteAs for your little catch phrase about how Ilyas is the only candidate promising to do something for the people of Hulhumeedhoo; thats bullshit as well. Cos no parliamentarian can do something specific for a specific island or community through parliament. Parliamentarians represent the people in the majlis to make laws and so forth for the benefit of the people; to keep government accountable. NOT to give 'gulha, bajiyaa, boakibaa' to their island. SO my question is, if Ilyas is so concerned with healthcare in Hulhumeedhoo, why not invest in a healthcare centre or private hospital through Megachip? Afterall, we all agree that he is a successful businessman. So why not use some of that business acumen and invest in his home island for a once?..say no to ilyas..vote the who knows the real subject

We have a marked discrepancy between Male’ the capital and the outer-islands in terms of the availability of medical facilities and social infrastructure such as schools, water & sanitation, etc. As a consequence, the continued migration to the capital with its already strained infrastructure (limited area for housing and diminishing job opportunities, and even now the president is announcing to build more and more flats to flood the whole population in to Male’) will continue until there is a concerted effort to improve the quality of life and increase employment opportunities in the outer atolls...vote for shabadey!!

Everyday of his Presidency is spent on trying to sign MOU’s and seeking buyers so that Maldivian will have to end up paying for everything, from toilets and roads to schools and hospitals. With this going on one side, drug and alcohol wheeling, dealing and usage in the Maldives is at an all time high. Added to Nasheed’s insanity of privatization of public services, the public service employees are getting harassed everywhere in the Maldives while people are grappled with stalled public service developments and rising unemployment levels.

We see no difference between people, just because they belong to different parties. A Maldivian be it MDP, DRP or any other party is a Maldivian, and deserve equal rights and equal treatment hence forth. And being the president, a better notion of this reality is to be exemplified by you. If the president speaks such words, than imagine what the rest of the country, who may follow your footsteps may do. Honestly speaking we are not interested to see how low you can sink ( President Nasshed) as you speak of so proudly. I fail to understand how MDP could have envisioned a mass gathering to the capital when most of the islanders live below $1 a day. Where would they get the money to travel, where are they going to stay, what are they going to do once they arrive. Besides, in Maldives most of the people who are rich enough to own a boat (dhoni) are connected to the Regime (how else could they have gotten rich). It was simply a matter of cutting off the transportation by the government. A simple task. A few brave people tried only to be made an example to the rest of the country of what would befall to anyone who tried to join this demonstration. Maldives in not Venezuela or Ukraine or even Nepal.
